The Pikey Peak Trek in Nepal is newly opened, the best mountain trek in the lower Everest region of Nepal, offering you spectacular panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Ghaurishankar and other Himalayan peaks from an altitude of 4,065 meters. As we researched, the Pikey Peak trek is a comfortable trek for trekkers of all ages who have an average fitness level. The trek typically takes 7 days to complete and takes you through the beautiful landscape of the Himalayas part from lush rhododendron forests to snow-capped peaks.

Being a less popular and newly promoted route, it is known around the world for its breathtaking views of sunset and sunrise, along with a peaceful, off-the-beaten-path trekking experience with fewer tourists compared to Everest Base Camp and Annapurna Circuit treks. During the trek, staying in teahouses, you’ll explore the Sherpa village culture, local people’s character and traditional hospitality, along with other local ethnic groups like Tamangs, Rais, and Limbus.

The best times to trek to Pikey Peak are during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to December) seasons. These periods offer favourable weather conditions, stunning views, and vibrant landscapes, making them ideal for trekking. You’ll start your journey from Daap Bazar after driving from Kathmandu for roughly 8- 9 hours, depending on the traffic and road conditions; alternatively, you can take a 30-minute flight from Kathmandu to Phalpu. From Phalpu, you would need to trek a short distance to reach Dhap, which serves as the starting point for the Pikey Trek.
