Langtang trek & Yala peak

The Langtang Valley Trek with Yala Peak (5732m) Climbing is a fantastic adventure in Nepal that combines cultural trekking and alpine climbing. It’s ideal for those who want a Himalayan peak experience without the extreme altitude.

Overview:

The Langtang Himal range and the trails to the south of these Himalayas are home to grand trekking adventures. It offers a mix of Himalayan scenery, Tibetan-influenced culture, and relatively fewer crowds compared to the Everest or Annapurna regions. Similarly, the Langtang National Park and the glaciers within this natural reserve are also highlights of the Langtang Valley Trek. Along with Yala Peak, it is a popular trekking peak in the Langtang region of Nepal, known for its relatively moderate level of climb with non-technical aspects. It presents a challenge for newcomer climbers and a great acclimatisation opportunity. If you are keen to climb technical 6000m peaks like Mera peak 6476m, Island peak 6189m or Lobuche east peak 6119m, then Yala peak would be a great choice for beginner climbers. The top of the peaks offers Stunning Himalayan Views: Includes Shishapangma (8,013m) in Tibet, Langtang Lirung (7227m), Dorje Lakpa (6985m), and Ganchenpo (6387m).

This expedition has a 100% success rate in the previous year, with amazing team support. We ensure that our clients feel more comfortable and flexible with our service, and guide supporters to make a memorable trip experience with us.

The trek starts from Syabrubensi, where you will arrive 5/6 hours’ drive north of Kathmandu. The trek follows the Langtang River through the forest until Lama Hotel and continues to Langtang Village the next days. As the views of the Langtang Himal range join us on the trek, we will reach Kyanjin Gompa- A scenic village with a famous monastery and yak cheese factory. Here, you can explore the local village or scale Kyanjin ri (4773m) on an acclimatisation day, then the next day move to Yala peak base camp to climb the peak. The best season is from October to November and February to May. En route, the accommodations are less basic compared to Everest and other region accommodations, but their service and hospitality are kind and amazing.

Experience Required

This journey might be easier or more challenging. Participants should have good walking experience and be able to carry 5-8 kgs in their backpack, walk up and down every day for 10 days and be able to push themselves while trekking and climbing. You will need good endurance and body strength. Aerobic exercises mixed with overall body strength-building should help you prepare physically for your trip. Another aspect is your mental strength. We would say any mountaineering experience is more about testing your mental strength, to push forward and take on the challenge of completing a great adventure and being exposed to new, uncomfortable environments. Combining the Langtang Valley Trek with a Yala Peak (5,732m) summit typically takes 12 days from Kathmandu to Kathmandu- the participant can do the Langtang trek only, which takes 8 days.
