Manaslu Circuit Trek

The Manaslu Trek offers some of the most extraordinary experiences with the Himalayan scenery, cultural diversity, and challenging terrain. So, this trip is a pure Himalayan trail beyond the crowds.

Overview:

The original trek begins from Machhakhola after a 7-9-hour drive from Kathmandu. The journey typically takes 13-15 days to complete the trek, depending on acclimatisation and itinerary. This trek takes you through authentic Buddhist villages like Jagat, Deng, and Namrung. As we ascend further, Nubri communities dominate the trails with their local lifestyle, unique culture, and heritage. After passing Lho and Sho villages, we can see dramatic views of Mt. Manaslu (8163m), which keeps us company on the way to Sama Gaon. Samagaun is a large village with a distinct Tibetan influence, and here we will spend an extra day to acclimatise before crossing the pass called Larkye pass 5160m. The pass gives highlights of the trek and offers breathtaking panoramic views of Manaslu (8163m), Annapurna II (7935m), Himlung (7129m), and the Kangkaru Himal range, including the majestic Himalayas.
Manaslu trekking in Nepal is a truly unique and enriching experience, and a less crowded trek in Nepal compared to Everest base camp or Annapurna region trek, it feels more remote and pristine. It allows trekkers to immerse themselves in the natural beauty and cultural richness of the Himalayas.

Experience Required

The Manaslu Trek is a remote high-altitude route that passes through culturally sensitive and restricted territory. Trek will begin from 1200m to 5160m. There is a slow ascent every day, very different, so before crossing the Larkey pass. This trek is considered moderate to strenuous, requiring good fitness and some trekking experience due to the Larkya La Pass and rugged terrain. You must be able to walk rocky and uneven terrain for 6-7 hours on average a day, and be able to carry a day bag weighing 3-5 kg.

The best time for the Manaslu Circuit Trek is spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), for clear skies and stable weather. The pass can be snowbound in late autumn or early spring, requiring flexibility; otherwise, generally, the weather is clear and stable, and offers the best views and comfortable trekking conditions
