2025 Hill village project 100% succeeful.

Altitude Expeditions announced that our spring season has been over already and we also know you all that our house renovation project has completed. Every after season, we are helping rural areas poor families like building new house, glass window support, support zin cover for house roof, ground wood floor and health treatment along with education fees and school stationery and clothes items are taking with us for them. Since 2021 we have been doing these project colleting funds with our clients/friends. We have been contributing 25%  money from trip/expedition earning then after rest amount we share our respected clients and friends for donate as much as they can. All donation will goes 100% for projects, if money is left then will use for foods(rice, sugar, salt, soap and oil so on), blanket and mattress for them who could not afford money on these sector.

The Hill village is Phurba Wangchhu Sherpa and Ngawang Dorji Sherpa born place, which we truly love to help village poor families. Graphically Hill village is very remote and long distance area no road access, no hospital and not internet access, so all the necessary material are purchase in Kathmandu then transport 2 days and carried 4-5 hours by porter to get materials in village, that’s why everything goes costly. All our trips staffs Guide, Sherpa, porters are taking from the village because the money goes village family/who really needs support from us at the same time we paid 35% more wages our staffs than other company paid.

In last, 2025 Hill village house renovation projects is donate by Dr. Thilo Walter from Germany and Emma family. We altitude Expeditions and entire Hill village family would say Thank you so much for both of your helping. Without your support we couldn’t do it. Your support made a significant changes in family living conditions than before, they are so happy always. We truly appreciated with your great support.

Thank you Once again.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

House Renovation project in remote Sherpa village 2024 Feb!

We altitude Expeditions completed house renovation project in remote Sherpa village 2024 February. Due to Covid since 2020 the lack of tourism has wiped-out our main income and badly affected the local village communities of the Himalayas . We’ve been trying to help poor people in the remote areas of our village by carrying out projects like food drops, replacing plastic sheets for glass windows, reroofing properties and insulating houses to improve the lives of families who are not in a position to pay for food and vital renovation work themselves.

Being poor in Nepal is a bit different than being poor in your country.

The first problem, due to lack of finances, they couldn’t buy important things such as food, cooking oil glass for windows and zinc for roofing, they have been using plastic in a lot of cases since the earth-quake of 2015 and this causes many problems during the summer due to leaking water and cold, as well as wind damage.

Since 2018 we stablished, Our ambition is not only to provide great adventures, but also to help the remote villages where our climbing team and porters came from.  AND -We donate 20% of our total revenue to support community projects.  This includes: Providing windows, flooring, beds and bedding, provide blanket and mattress and cloths, health treatment, supporting children’s education fees. Since 2018 until these year we successfully glazed 7 houses with new windows and reroofed 3 house and build a house these year with the funds contribution from Lions club of Korbach Arolsen Germany and Poulo Andreotti with Pia Schafer and yourself.

This family are still sleeping on the floor with no flooring, no insulation and are exposed the elements every night. We are going to completely rebuild the house on a new stone base. The goal is to install plywood inside for insulation and also fit floorboards to protect from cold Along with 3 windows and it has 7 pc of glass and all electric line managed with light and build small bed to sleep and table to eat and drink. Before they don’t have such thing in home and couldn’t offer and expensive for them. Now fully done, also I gave blanket and mattress and build small simple kitchen outside.

In the words of the Dalai Lama:
Helping others brings deep satisfaction. No matter how powerful we may seem to be, our survival depends on the community. Clearly the community is crucial to individual happiness, so if we make others happy, we too derive benefit. We need to take action. However, if we act out of self-centeredness, it will be difficult to be transparent, to earn others’ trust and friendship. By learning to be more warm-hearted we can create a more compassionate world.

Please join us and donate little as much you can, your donation will goes directly to the social charity project in the remote areas. Let’s hands together to change little by little the remote area Sherpa’s community.

We will keep update our next project Shortly, Thanks

House roofing support to village family

Every season completing we are back to Village to with some project, so on august 2023 then spring season over, we Altitude Expeditions decided to support the hose roofing cover to the remote area family house to protect from cold and raining . Due to the lack lack of economic opportunity their family daily life not an easy as we thought, even many children are not going to school, paying school fees, uniform and stationery items so costly to their family also food daily life needs things.

We have done these great social work by supporting funds from lions club of Korbach Arolsen Germany ORG. Now, the house of family completely different than before and the families are so happy and their living more comfortable and warm now. Also, we provided blanket and mattress for the family from left budget.

You/we all are Kind to contribute such a project. Let’s hands together from small donating. Things are still remaining to do in remote area.

IT IS POSSIBLE-CHANGE STARTS WITH YOU!

Stationery distribution remote area school students:

On June 25, 2023, We supported school stationeries for 12 children (6 Girls and 6 Boys) of Waku Hill Solukhumbu district. These children are from poor economic, vulnerable, and marginalized communities of Hill Village.

12 students from Shree Saraswati basic school have received stationery supplies such as Copy, pen, pencil, and eraser. The program mainly focused on giving interest to go school everyday from home and learn something everyday to kids as well as provide awareness to parents: let them go to school every children’s to learn something new to change the world.

We have helped rural areas school several time to change their life by education and positive thoughts.

we are looking forward to help something different in the future.

Supported to Mingma Sherpa Health Treatment

After our Autumn 2022 season is over, we back to support to remote areas peoples in our village hill Solukhumbu district.

Before beginning new year 2023, we decided to new project is to improve the daily life of Mingma Sherpa, 38, mother of two little girls. Her husband is a farm worker. She has suffered from asthma for 6 years. Her situation has gotten much worse over the past 6 months. The crises are more and more frequent and strong. Due to a lack of resources, she was never able to carry out lab tests necessary for setting up treatment. The Kathmandu hospital is the very far place where these tests are possible. But Kathmandu is 3 hours walk and 2 days by jeep from Hill. And that’s of course without counting the medical expenses such as return trip to Kathmandu, medical consultations and tests, hospital and accommodation costs and consultations and follow-up tests–
Setting aside such an expense is absolutely not feasible for Mingma and her husband.

Admissions biggest city hospital and follow professional doctor, now, after 3 months later her health is 70% improvement than before. Even, we found she is very stronger and better after the full medical treatment from hospital.

Again, doctor appointed to follow up doctor end of May 2023, at that time we will be responsible support her medical expenses along with we are happy for additional help: cloths for her family needs such as Blanket, mattresses, baby clothes. Also, we have shown them some beautiful places in cities during the staying in Kathmandu.

We are climbing and trekking partner/guides in Nepal on other hand we do support remote in areas to change their life style.

Glass windows support for poor family house

located in Solukhumbu district, the Hill village is one of the most remote areas of Nepal, due to geographic area, no transport access, no good hospital, no touristic area. Working seasonal job such as guides, porter, life of village people are very basic. The first problem, due to lack of finances, they couldn’t buy important things such as food, cooking oil glass for windows and zinc for roofing, they have been using plastic in a lot of cases since the earth quake of 2015 and this causes many problems during the summer due to leaking water and cold as well as wind damage.

Being poor in Nepal is a bit different than being poor in your country.

Last year, we successfully glazed 5 houses with new windows and reroofed one house by the Germany lions club of Korbach-Arlosen donating for these past project.  Of course we believe that :

In the words of the Dalai Lama;
Helping others brings deep satisfaction. No matter how powerful we may seem to be, our survival depends on the community. Clearly the community is crucial to individual happiness, so if we make others happy, we too derive benefit. We need to take action. However, if we act out of self-centredness, it will be difficult to be transparent, to earn others’ trust and friendship. By learning to be more warm-hearted we can create a more compassionate world.
That’s why, We are Altitude Expeditions and the Waku Hill village entire people’s would like to say thank you so much and very appreciated your big support to the rural areas peoples. Now, the families from the villages houses pattern are completely changes as well as more comfortable and warm than before. Once again thank you to Lions club of Germany Org and the coordinator team.

Food relief for poor families in CoVid-19 Lockdown – Nepal

During these uncertain times following the emergence of the COVID-19 virus, we support to identify the best ways to help the poor family in remote area. The Nepal government has locked down the country to prevent community transmission of the coronavirus – only essential services like hospitals and food suppliers remain open.

“A prolonged shutdown forces us to look beyond the near future – food shortages, economic hardship, social unrest and political instability. The virus and its response have exposed and exacerbated existing socio-economic inequities in Nepali society, exclusion and injustice” (Nepali Times).

Being poor in Nepal is a bit different than being “poor” in your country.

Due to Covid since 2020 the lack of tourism has wiped-out Sherpa people, guides, porters  main income and badly affected the local village communities of the Himalayas . We’ve been trying to help poor people in the remote areas of our village by carrying out projects like food drops replacing plastic sheets for glass windows, reroofing properties and insulating houses to improve the lives of families not in a position to pay for food and vital work to there properties themselves.
Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world. In remote mountain communities, over 42% of tourism labor drop out of their income. After losing their job, it was really hard for them village people to eat food, after supporting the money from lions club of Korbach Arolsen Germany ORG, we distributed each household’s rice 30 kg, sugar 2 kg, Oil 2 liter, noodles 2 kg, salt 2 kg and soap 4 pieces for hand wash and facemask for 114 families 6 months ago.

Support children school fees

No income  due to lack of Tourism
In the past, after a severe earthquake, supporting from the organization flowed to rebuild a school in the village. This time it was about financial support school children bills. As a result of the global corona pandemic, the income that the village, with its almost 180 inhabitants, generates through tourism has completely collapsed.

The mountain guides and all other people who, in addition to agriculture, could earn an extra income through tourism (every third farmer also works as a porter) now have to get by without this income. Even from the village all the parents are great! but presents are  attended the village school for about some years some are not. They can read and write minimally. The two work hard every day. Farming, (all by hand!) .. and Father’s  earns some money in the small window of expeditions to Mt. Everest – as a porter, trekking guides.  As we all know , it is was very hard during pandemic time after they lost their main income job, such as buying foods for the daily life, paying children school fees, cloths..so on,  this also means that everyday life in the mountain village is severely restricted. So, through some club, we provide about 27 school kids their school fees, it was big important financial support for the villagers kids specially who are going school to read and learn.

We have our hands full at this time to keep the peace within and around us. Everyone has their everyday life… whether here or in Nepal and life takes its course. With us, everything is and will remain the same.

I wish you all from the bottom of my heart that you can accept and appreciate peace, freedom and your everyday life with family and friends. Here’s to a Merry Christmas and above all stay healthy!
