Although not for the faint-hearted, this trip was deeply restorative for all of us. A combination of stunning scenery from below 1000m to over 5000m, wonderful camaraderie and a genuine sense of achievement made this an unforgettable experience. Ngawang Sherpa and his team are wonderful people, personifying the essence of Buddhist modesty, kindness and generosity. Full of mountain experience and with an innate awareness of the difficulties and dangers around us, we always felt as safe as we could be working with him and his team under his guidance. While they constantly seek to minimise well known stumbling blocks on a trek such as this e.g. food quality and various forms of physical discomfort, a substantial proportion of the cost of this trip is devoted to the upkeep and welfare of the rural community from which they hail and where countless issues abound. The combination of an incredible “holiday” experience with palpable social impact feels almost unique.

An unforgettable culturally rich and inspiring trip organised by Ngawang completing the Manaslu Circuit.
A group of 6 men from UK, we had the most amazing trip and experience, hosted by Ngawang and his team (1 other Sherpa and 4 porters), allowing us to sample the beauty and spirituality of the isolated villages and scenery along the Manaslu Circuit whilst he and his team made sure we had everything we needed at all stages, from well organised tea house stops, accommodation and meals, as well as a great schedule to acclimatise to the gaining altitude. This culminated in a wonderful day crossing Larkya La Pass before later returning to Kathmandu. We were also very lucky with the weather throughout.
Ngawang obviously has a huge passion for his Sherpa background and the mountains, his spoken English is excellent and he shared his knowledge throughout allowing us to fill our boots with information and broaden the experience. Safety is clearly a priority for him and his team who made us feel secure at all times.

Amazing Adventure, Ngawang, Phurba and the Excellent Team of Porters were so helpful and friendly they ensured we wanted for nothing. We were a team of 8 but due to a family bereavement back home two of our team had to get back to the UK, The Sherpa team arranged a Heli within a couple of hours from Namchie back to Kathmandu. We did the Gokyo – Cho La Pass and EBC route for three weeks. Off the beaten track, Tiered , Cold, and Exhausted, Our Hosts from Altitude Expeditions (AE) made as comfortable and well feed through out the Expedition. Highley Recommended Team of professional who know the Nepal Mountains like their back yard. You will be in the safest Hands. What an amazing adventure. Arrived in Nepal having been well briefed on what to bring for the trip, which was almost a month. Was met at the airport by Ngawang and the team, made to feel very welcome and sorted out all the admin (SIM cards etc.). Then a short ride to the Hotel for a lovely meal and briefing before heading up into the mountains. We had a lot of fun and managed to cover: Gokyo Re at 5,360; Cho La pass at 5,330; Everest Base Camp at 5,364, Kala Patthar at 5,550 and Ama Dablam Base Camp at 4,529. Mixed in with this there was a snowball fight, many games of cards and a collection of photos to last a lifetime. The Altitude Expeditions team were amazing and made sure we were more than well looked after on the trek and with the accommodation and help flights. Highly recommend Ngawang and the team.

Had an amazing time trekking the Manaslu Trail, with Phurba as our guide and Sonam and Pasang as our porters. They did such a great job making the experience as smooth as possible, we couldn’t be happier! Off trail, all the logistics where perfectly handled by Ngawang, always friendly, easy to communicate with and ready to attend to our needs. We strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable team in Nepali mountains.

My trekking team just returned from our expedition from Lukla to Everest Base Camp via Gokyo Lake and Chola Pass. We highly recommend Altitude Expeditions for their expertise in handling our trekking experience in the Himalayas. The trekking package included top lodges with good hospitality and a wide array of meals. We were able to have fitful rests in the comfort of the lodges.
We are also thoroughly impressed with the swift evacuation of one of our team members who was down with AMS. The night before the evacuation, our Sherpa also went above and beyond by staying in the room with the affected member, armed with an oxygen tank and also monitoring the member’s oxygen levels.
This is our first experience in Himalayas and it was an amazing experience because of the Sherpas.

Fantastic trip to Lobuche and Everest Base Camp with Ngawang. This is my second trip with Ngawang and I can highly recommend him. He is consistently professional, courteous, always has a smile and looks after his clients to a very high level.
He chooses the accommodation personally and you are always well fed during the trip.

I had the immense pleasure of making the ascent of Mera Peak, then of Barunste and to finish of Ama Dablam guided by Phurba Sherpa and his son Ngawang Sherpa, I often came to Nepal and Tibet to carry out expeditions , but for the latter, I must admit that they took care of me at all times, carrying my bag, wondering all day how I was, finding me comfortable lodges and sometimes putting my clothes on. studs on my shoes, they were beyond my expectations. Do not hesitate to go with them whatever your level, they will be at your disposal

We climbed Lobuche East with Ngawang & his team back in April 2018. The whole planning phase from back home was smooth & easy, Ngawang was very responsive, informative and flexible with regards to our wishes and requirements. The expedition was guided by Ngawang, the whole trip was very comfortable and we felt well looked after, taken care of and listened to at all times. The Guys were amazing, safety conscious, and adjusted to our needs and we successfully reached the summit as planned. I & my wife travelled with Altitude Expeditions to Everest Base Camp and it was the experience of a lifetime. The trip was guided by Ngawang Dorji sherpa and the local team looked after us so well and were extremely knowledgeable and best of all were great craic to hang out with. It’s a tough hike but not beyond the capabilities of anyone who puts their mind to it and trains before heading off. Altitude Expeditions were really good at providing advice on training beforehand and will do everything they can to set you up to succeed on whatever adventure you choose. I would recommend Altitude Exped with Ngawang to anyone and am going to be booking with them myself again in the near future.
